Anxiety can happen at any point in our lives, however, the situation that we find ourselves in at the moment is definitely going to have an impact on our mental wellbeing. Not only are we more likely to be worried about our jobs, finding managing our finances tricky and also negotiating the minefield of home-schooling. But we are doing all of these things whilst feeling that we are trapped at home too.

Not everyone enjoys cooking or baking, but if you do, then this might be a good idea to do during lockdown. Get crafty 

Even if you are not particularly crafty or arty in your nature, it might be worthwhile getting yourself some glue and glitter and creating something. Crafts, in whatever form you want them to be in are going to take your mind off of your anxiety and will give you a creative outlet to enjoy too. Best of all, you may discover that you have a talent that you didn’t know that you had. 

Try yoga or meditation

There is plenty of evidence out there to show how beneficial both yoga and meditation can be on our emotional well-being. If you haven’t tried it before, then you might want to give it a go whilst you are feeling that you are stuck at home. Both of these activities will slow down your breathing and will help to relax your mind. 

Alternative therapies and self-care

Now is a great time to try out some self-care methods that you may have wanted to for a while. Aromatherapy and massage are both great options. However, you can also try out something that is simpler is just running a bath and letting your worries soak away. Sometimes something simple like trying out a new scented candle or exploring with different essential oils is enough to lift your mood and calm your mind. 

Staying at home might not seem like much fun, but we know that our homes are the safest space to be right now. Try to find peace from being at home, no matter what it is that you do during your time there.
